Mothership Events is a full service national event management and producing company. Mothership Events incorporates various areas of the Events Industry from music events, festivals, community events, government events, media events, artist showcases, educational institution gala days, arts and cultural events to corporate and private functions.
We are an innovative and dependable events company. Predominantly as industry leading event producers and promoters, we are actively involved in event management, touring, artist bookings, publicity and promotion of tours and artists. Yet our most established area: Event Producing is where we surpass the competitors. We are established in music, festivals and events, but diversify ourselvesto encompass the corporate and private entertainment sectors.

Who We Are

Mothership Events was conceived in 1992 out of an obsession for entertainment and events. Since opening our doors as live music promoters and venue managers, Mothership Eventshas toured The Cat Empire, provided and managed the largest music festivals in the Southern Hemisphere and activated government cultural strategies.

In this capacity it is our responsibility to organise your event from the booking of quality artists and securing venues to providing all staging/production requirements, managing publicity and promotion, as well as, the development and running the event from woe to go.

Our committment to the industry is further highlighted by the scope and longevity of premier events we continue to produce and promote. 

Our Team

Brent Lean – Director

Brent has been actively involved in the industry for twenty years as both musician and promoter and has developed a unique understanding from both sides of the fence. He has built a strong reputation as someone who cares about the sustainable development of the Australian entertainment industry.

His relationship with musicians, their management, and record companies guarantees a fair and equitable result for all parties. In particular his relationship with booking agencies and promoters who look after major local and international acts is undeniably strong. They entrust him with the execution of their shows, tours and events. Knowing they will have a quality result means Mothership Music has the power to negotiate the best deals available on artist bookings and production elements, and in turn deliver an event project whether corporate, outdoor or touring, at a level that is unsurpassed.

Justin Nyker - Director

Justin has been working the entertainment and arts industry for approximately 15 years. He has a rounded skill base where he began working in art galleries during his fine arts studies which quickly progressed to the nightclub venue  scene. Soon he advanced to large scale public events such as NYE Sydney, Mardi Gras, Chinese New Year Festival, The Commonwealth Games and The Channel V Musi c Bus Tour. Since joining Mothership Music, he has focused his skills in on the producing, event management and operation of a series of diverse community / public events, national tours, as well as a range of outdoor music events and festivals.

Justin produces and operates a project with precision and an outlook that derives from a wide range of event, arts and entertainment experiences. His networks and relationships with authorities, promoters, artist management and media outlets ensure the delivery of a project at a professional level to the client brief and specifications.

Matt Sims - Event & Site Manager

Matt was welcomed into the Mothership Events Family as Event Manager in 2009 and brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm for all events. Matt’s relaxed but firm nature has gained much respect from his crew, suppliers and clients within the event industry.

Matt has pride in the finest attention to detail in regards to all aspects of an event. Having started a career in the Events and Entertainment Industry at Age 15, Matt has developed and adapted skills in all aspects of events. With an early kick start with BLM Productions as a junior lighting programmer/operator Matt swiftly grasped the technical side of events and gained skills in lighting, sound, laser and stage design. After completing his HSC secured a role as Event and Entertainment Coordinator at Macquarie University, here he was responsible for organising and promoting O-week events, Conception Day and the Uni Bar Events to name a few.

In 2009, after a year as Home Nightclubs Entertainment and Marketing Manager, Matt realised that his true love for large scale public events was where his skills truly belonged. Now with 10 years experience behind him, Matt has a broad range of skills and knowledge of all aspects of events, from the earliest stages of development, through rolling the last truck offsite, and settling the budget and all accounts post event.

Melissa Dennis - Event Development & Administration

Melissa has joined the Mothership team after working as a crew member with Mothership Events. Coming from a hands on industry background in the Arts & Tourism; Mel has honed her leadership and co-ordination skills with her passion for events ever growing.
After complementing a Cert III in Tourism and a Diploma in Event management she has now joined us to pursue her joy of creating unique platforms for sharing music, art, ideas and exceptional experiences.
Being inspired by the events she's worked on including Tedx Nothern Beaches - This way Up!, Blackmores Sydney Running 

Festival, EB Games Expo, Bridgeclimb's Chinese New Year Celebrations, Bondi Bowl-a-rama, Stereosonic Sydney, Flinders Seats - Mardi Gras and having worked for the past 2 years in Venues management at the Australian National Maritime Museum, she is a creative asset who brings a personal spark to each event.

Pierre Arbey- Event Co-ordinator 

Pierre is a result driven and highly professional events person. His first step in the events industry was at the age of 19, creating and managing his own music label/touring agency in France for 4 years. He left France at the age of 23 and decided to expand his carreer in Sydney, where he graduated with a Masters of Event Management at the University of Technology, Sydney. 

Very serious, patient and loaded with good sense of humour, Pierre worked as a contractor with various agencies on a wide range of events (music, corporate, charity and government events). His first experience with Mothership Events was back in December 2014 as the Manager of Volunteers engaged on a Music Festival. Now with more than 8 years of experience within the events industry, Pierre has joined Mothership's vessel in October 2015 looking forward to new challenges and experience in the fast paced event industry. 

Yasmin Tan - Event Co-ordinator

Yasmin has recently joined the team at Mothership Events and her high skill set in Customer Service & Quality Control have her as a steadfast facet to the team.

She moved to London in 2011 where she soon fell into the event world by managing and coordinating events in a London establishment. On returning to Australia, she enrolled and started pursuing her career by doing her Diploma of Events at Sydney College of Event Management graduating with awards and high marks.

She's worked on the projects of Art Month and Sydney Fashion Week alongside having worked as a venue and event supervisor for varying venues. With her love and passion for the music and entertainment industry she sets her sights on the upcoming events, wanting to be a part of every aspect.

Yasmin is excited by her position at Mothership Events where she will utilise her experience and training in event management alongside her existing skills of project management, customer service, client management and administration experience to complete all her roles in a stellar manner.

Over the past two decades we have worked as venue, artist and event consultants and producers/promoters to a plethora of diverse projects and have gained invaluable experience by being in the trenches in all matters relating to the cohesive mix of live entertainment and the general operations and management of events. We feel we blend the two elements together seamlessly and offer services to make sure the overall output of our events are balanced and maintained. We see our work as a collective endeavor working closely with client, artists, authorities, stakeholders and all affiliated areas to ensure the efficient running of all shows.
